The short version

• We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
• Your check-in answers never leave your device.
• We collect the minimum we need to do what you asked, and delete it when we no longer need it.
• You can see, correct, or delete your information anytime by emailing privacy@stayven.co.

Who we are

STAYVEN is a trade name of SELMD, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company (“STAYVEN,” “we”). This notice covers stayven.co, including its forms and booking. What you share during coaching sessions is also covered by our coaching agreement, which you accept when you book.

What we collect and why

3-minute check-in

Nothing. The check-in runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are not sent to us or anyone else and are gone when you leave the page.

Waitlists

First name, email, state, and what you're interested in. We use this only to email you when booking opens. We ask you not to include health information.

Booking a free intro

Your first name, email, time zone, the time you pick, and, if you choose, what you'd like to work on and a short note. We share these with the coach you book so they can confirm and email you a video link, and we use them to send your confirmation and cancel link. We ask you not to include medical details in the note.

Paying for a session

Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe; STAYVEN never sees or stores them. We keep the amount, whether it was paid or refunded, and Stripe's payment reference, so we can confirm your booking, handle refunds, and pay your coach. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what it collects.

Coaching notes

If your coach keeps notes in the STAYVEN coach dashboard, they're stored in our database but locked so only your coach can read them. STAYVEN staff can't. You can ask your coach for a copy, or ask that they be deleted when coaching ends.

Coach profiles and payouts

Coaches' profile details and photos are public on stayven.co. Coaches set up payouts directly with Stripe; STAYVEN doesn't receive their bank details or Social Security numbers, only whether their Stripe account is ready.

Coach applications

Name, contact details, state, credentials, experience, availability, and what you tell us about your coaching. We use this to evaluate your application, and, if you're invited to interview, to run a background check with your separate written consent.

Therapist listings

Name, practice email, license type and state, practice name, and the EHR you use. We use this to contact you about a free listing and to verify your license before it appears.

Technical information

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site analytics. The admin area uses a cookie only to keep staff signed in.

Consumer health data

We treat anything that could reveal your mental or physical health as sensitive. We don't ask for it on this website. If you choose to mention something health-related in a booking note, it goes only to the coach you booked. We never sell it, and we never use it for targeted advertising. Information you share in coaching sessions is handled under our coaching agreement and is visible to your coach, not to STAYVEN staff.

Who we share it with

The coach you book with receives your booking details. Otherwise, only the service providers that run the site for us, under contracts that limit their use to providing that service: website hosting (Vercel), database hosting (Supabase), booking emails (Resend), payments (Stripe), and our own email (Microsoft 365). Coaches are independent professionals who agree to keep client information confidential. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect someone's safety in an emergency. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist entries: until the service opens and we've emailed you, plus 12 months, or sooner if you ask.
• Bookings: 24 months after the intro, then deleted, or sooner if you ask. Your coach keeps their copy of booking emails under their confidentiality agreement with us.
• Payment records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
• Coaching notes: until your coach deletes them. You can ask your coach to delete them anytime, or email us and we will.
• Coach applications and therapist listings: for the length of any relationship, or 24 months after a decision if not accepted.
• Server logs: according to our hosting provider's standard retention, generally 30 days or less.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to confirm what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it, and you can opt out of any processing for advertising or sale (we don't do either). Maryland residents have these rights under the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act. Email privacy@stayven.co; we'll verify the request and respond within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and if you're unhappy with the result you can contact the Maryland Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to submissions is limited to named STAYVEN staff using signed-in accounts, enforced at the database level. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you occurs, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Children

STAYVEN is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this notice in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, where we have your email, let you know before the change takes effect.
